Would I need to make a new benefit claim if I moved into C.A.S.S. accommodation?

Yes – a Project Worker would assist you in changing your address or making any new benefit claims that were necessary. You would need to change your address with the Job Centre/ D.W.P. (Department of Works and Pensions) and complete a new Housing Benefit claim. If you were recently released from prison you would need to make a new benefits claim as soon as possible through your nearest D.W.P. office.

A C.A.S.S. worker will receive your query and get back to you within a few days. They’ll do this by sending an e-mail to the address you’ve provided. It might be that your query is straightforward and can be answered quickly. Alternatively, if it’s more complicated the worker may take a little longer to get back to you or may have to e-mail you, requesting further information, before a full answer can be provided.
