If I lived in C.A.S.S. accommodation could I have visitors overnight?
C.A.S.S. only has housing for single people but we understand that you might have a partner or friend that you want to stay over occasionally. This is acceptable but you would need to discuss this with the worker who is responsible for the property. Some of the reasons we can't allow people to stay overnight on a regular basis are:
- We rent the properties from other landlords and it is part of our agreement with them that it is only used for single people·
- Having regular overnight stays can affect your Housing Benefit (which pays most of your rent) and we are obliged to inform Housing Benefit if rules are not being followed.
- If the property is shared it is also other residents’ home – they are affected by visitors and need some privacy.
Please note; C.A.S.S. does not allow people who are under 16 years of age to visit or stay at any property for reasons of health and safety.
