Specifically for those with alcohol and/ or other drug related difficulties.
H.A.S.S. (Housing Advice and Support Scheme) is funded by Cumbria Drug and Alcohol Action Team. The service aims to provide housing advice and support to anyone who has alcohol and other drug related difficulties. C.A.S.S. has links with both statutory and voluntary drug and alcohol agencies and operates surgeries within their offices. We can accept referrals from any source including self-referrals and will be as flexible as possible when arranging appointment times and venues. We can assist with most housing issues including rent arrears, debt issues, finding accommodation and benefits problems. If we’re unable to assist you with a particular issue we’ll endeavour to signpost you to another specialist agency.
For some people accessing the service, a single one-to-one advice session might be all that’s needed. Alternatively, for others a greater degree of support might be appropriate. In these instances advice workers may assist people in accessing additional C.A.S.S. services.
