Floating Support Scheme

  • Service - Providing Support

Across Carlisle, Allerdale, Copeland and Eden Criteria

Criteria 

For people who are vulnerable and in need of housing and benefits related support in order to sustain their tenancy and maintain independent living in the community. The scheme is generally for single people (including single parents) but will also consider applications from couples and families. Applicants may be in housing association or private rented tenancies, other forms of tenure, or owner/ occupier.

Scheme Objectives

To assist service users to establish and maintain independent living.

Support

Support is provided by workers who visit service users regularly and the level of support provided can vary depending upon the service user's support needs at the time. Shortly after interview service users meet their Project Worker to agree a support plan. This is to identify the person's aims, needs, a plan and time-scale to try to achieve them. If needs are identified that are outside the remit of the support provided by C.A.S.S. (i.e. non-housing and benefits related or very specialist) workers will actively assist clients to contact and maintain contact with appropriate services.

Details of provision Sixty-three units of floating support across Carlisle, Eden, Allerdale and Copeland.
